1959

A Derby suburban triple DMU seen in Handsworth & Smethwick station looking south east towards Snow Hill. Cardiff can just be seen on the destination blind, this is probably one of two sets from the 508xx series transferred from Cathays to Tyseley circa late 1960 which had they two digit headcode panel rather than the four marker lamp arrangement that the other Tyseley sets did. July 1959

Three two-car sets (Met-Camm, GRC&W and one more) on the site of Handsworth Wood station in July 1959. 56341 appears to be leading. Michael Mensing.

1971

Now known as Handsworth, the Saturday only midday Birmingham Snow Hill to Wolverhampton Low Level single car leaves Handsworth & Smethwick in 1971. Snow Hill by now had 6 daily deps to Wolverhampton and 4 to Langley Green. 4 tracks are back in place with the Jewellery Line and the Metro. Stephen Burdett.
